Towels can be some of the bulkiest, most difficult items to move. You may not have many of them, but even a few can take up an entire box.
When embarking upon a big move, it's key to make the most of every inch of space.
Here's how to tackle those towels and pack them most efficiently.
Stop
Right in the middle of packing towels, if you notice you're running out of space, stop.
Take a step back and try to figure out where exactly the problem is. Are you stuffing the towels in the sides of your bags or boxes with no rhyme or reason? Have you folded them and tried to put them on top of everything else?
The most important step in packing more efficiently is stopping, reflecting, and recognizing. Once you've stopped, you can take a breather and return to the task with more energy and motivation.
Drop
When your towels are giving you trouble during the packing process, leave everything else aside. And this goes for any problem during a move: since there are so many anxieties, try to focus on one thing at a time.
This way, you'll be able to solve that problem and move on to the next one with a new sense of confidence.
So after stopping, drop everything else and focus solely on solving the towel problem
Roll
And that's where this blog comes in.
In all of our years of helping clients move, we've discovered one key method to packing bulky items like towels:
Roll them!
First, take your towels out of the box or bag they currently aren't fitting in. Then, fold them into slightly narrower rectangles. Next, roll them tightly so you end up with a series of cylinders. And finally, place these rolled up towels at the bottom of your box or bag.
This method might seem too simple to be the best, but it really is.
When you roll your towels, you'll find you might even have extra space in your boxes.
